Mary G. Kizer, 86, of Belvidere, IL died Wednesday morning July 28, 2010 in SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford, IL. Mary was born March 23, 1924 in Kasson, Minnesota the daughter of Lloyd and Eunice (Arnold) Dickenson. She graduated from Frederic High School in Frederic, Wisconsin and attended university in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mary was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army in Vienna, Austria from 1945 through 1948. She earned a position with the Civil Service in Okinawa, Japan in 1949. It was there she met her husband Howard Hamilton Kizer and the two were married on December 2, 1950 in Okinawa. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was involved with the Sunday school program and was a member of the Ladies Guild. Mary loved Christmas and all of her pets.
Mary is loved and will be missed by her son Jeffrey.
She is also survived by her nephews Terry Tripp, Tracy and Scott Dickenson; nieces, Cindy Miester and Diane McCollom; sisters-in-law, Helen Kizer, Maryln Ruth Tripp and Helen Dickinson. Mary is predeceased by her parents; husband; sister, Susan Dickinson; brother, Jack Dickinson.

Funeral Information

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 3, 2010 in First Presbyterian Church, Belvidere, IL with Rev. Dr. Robert Kopp officiating. Military Rites will take place. Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church.

Donations Information

Memorials can be given to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or the American Heart Association in Mary’s name.
