Morris L. “Bud” Blair, 84, of Belvidere, died Friday, January 13, 2012, in Swedish American Hospital. Born June 1, 1927 in Boon Lake Township, Minnesota, son of William and Nina (Shilston) Blair. Married Phyllis Paulson on April 22, 1950 in Belvidere. Morris worked for both the National Sewing Machine Company and later for Sundstrand in Belvidere and was a part-time farmer raising beef cattle for 40 years. He was a member of the UAW and the Northern Illinois Vintage Tractor & Engine Association. He enjoyed collecting Massey-Harris antique tractors and equipment, and also collected antique cars.
Survivors include his loving wife Phyllis, daughter Leavone (Richard) Johnson of Robinson, IL, son Wade Blair of Watertown, WI, grandchildren Paul, Elizabeth, Courtney and Ryan, great-grandchildren Andrew, Alexandra, Dylan and Jacob, sisters Florence Roth, Betty Dahl, Chris Bateman, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, and brothers Darrel, Duane and Robert.

Funeral Information

Funeral service 11 AM, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere with Rev. Ed Greenfield officiating. Burial 11 AM, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation 5 to 7 PM, Monday, January 16, 2012 in the funeral home.

Donations Information

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family for a memorial to be established in Morris’ name.
