Mr. Nicholas J. Giamarese

November 12, 1930 - January 13, 2010

Nicholas J. Giamarese, 79, of Belvidere died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family from a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. He was born November 12, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Frank and Lucille (Genovese) Giamarese. He graduated from Chicago area schools and various banking schools. Nicholas married Elizabeth “Betty” Vogel in Chicago on June 1, 1952. He was a Bank Officer for the Sears Bank a position he held for 25 years retiring in 1992. He attended St. James Catholic Church. Nicholas was and avid golfer and enjoyed horses. Nicholas is survived by his wife, “Betty”, Belvidere; three sons, Nicholas (Diane), Belvidere; Frank, Tampa, Florida; and Joseph (Laura), Berwyn, Illinois; five grandchildren, Bill, Lauren, Nicole, Robert and Katie; two great-grandchildren, William and Gianna. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sally Durso.

Funeral Information

Funeral service 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 18, 2010 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home 218 W. Hurlbut Av. with the Rev. Brian Geary, Pastor of St. James Catholic Church, officiating. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. Visitation 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
