Jacqueline May "Jackie" Erickson

Jacqueline May “Jackie” Erickson, 78, of Rockford, died at 10:05 P.M. Friday, April 25, in Swedish American Hospital following a long illness. She was born August 31, 1929, in Chicago, the daughter of Ivan C. and Ruth LeGrand Gray and was baptized April 20, 1930. Jackie married Richard H. Erickson in Chicago’s Luther Memorial Church on May 14, 1955. Formerly employed by Debbietemps Office Services, she also served as a Girl Scout Leader and as a teacher’s aide in Buffalo Grove; she also enjoyed craft groups. Jackie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Belvidere.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; five children: Stephen (Jodi) Erickson, New Jersey; Sally (Greg) Meyer, Champaign; Daniel (Inés) Erickson, Batavia; Diane (Mike) Geniesse, Buffalo Grove; and David Erickson, Palatine; six grandchildren: Mike (Heather) Geniesse, Jr., Adam Erickson, Jennifer and Cheryl Geniesse, Elayna Meyer, and Brianna Erickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter (Linda Joy), and a brother (Ronald Gray).

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, April 30, in Christ Lutheran Church, 425 Riverside Blvd., Belvidere, with the Rev. Dr. Timothy V. Olson, pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral services with interment at a later date. Visitation will be in the church from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday, April 29 and from 10-10:45 A.M. on Wednesday.
