John V. Vernetti, 75, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in Northwoods Care Center. John was born November 24, 1936 in Hurley, Wisconsin the son of Natale J. and Mary C. (Innanti) Vernetti. He married Elnora Nestor in Carlisle, PA. John retired from the Chrysler Corporation, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had a passion for cars and motorcycles. John was known for his mechanical skills fixing many cars for people in his spare time. He was extremely devoted to his family and had a solid work ethic.

He is loved and will be missed by his wife, Elnora of Belvidere; daughters Sue (Steve) Eichman of Beloit, WI, Jeannie (Tim) Knutson of Belvidere; son, John (Renee) Vernetti of Lakeland, TN; step-daughter, Pam (Doug) Fudge of Anaheim, CA; sisters, Sharon, Mary Lee, Patty and Corrine; brothers, Donald and Domenic; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Violet, Isabelle and Minnie; brothers, Peter and Bobby; granddaughter, Mitzie.

Funeral Information

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2012 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded.
