Mr. Dale George Markley

January 21, 1941 - August 30, 2010

Dale George Markley, 69, of Belvidere, died suddenly Monday, August 30, 2010 in his home. Born January 21, 1941 in Freeport, IL, son of Levi and Leona (Montgomery) Markley. Married Lillie Bachman on July 28, 2005 in a little brown church in Iowa. Worked as an equipment engineer for A.L.L. Equipment in Loves Park and prior to that was at Air Power in Rockford. Dale was an avid gardener, loved visiting and helping out his neighbors; he also enjoyed grilling, drinking beer while watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife Lillie, daughter Lori (Wendell) Tipton of Ridott; son Eric Markley of Auburndale, FL; step-daughters Janet (Rodney) Reeser of Freeport, Kathy (Thomas) Graves of Baxter, MN and Kim (Brent) Oberg of Roscoe, grandchildren Jared, Brittney, Jenna, TJ, Austen and Martin, great-granddaughter Isabella. Predeceased by his parents and brother Milton Markley.

Funeral Information

Funeral service 11 AM, Friday, September 3, 2010 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere with Rev. David Bateman, St. John’s United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. Visitation 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, in the funeral home.
