Mr. David L. Anderson

August 11, 1939 - December 31, 2011

David L. Anderson, 72, of Capron, IL passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Anam Care (Alzheimer’s) Center following a long illness. Born August 11, 1939 in Port Wing, WI; son of Raymond and Eula (Jensen) Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960 with a tour in Germany. Married Deanna Weis on May 9, 1964 in Austin, MN. Moved to Belvidere, IL, working at Sundstrand Corp. as a machinist for 25 yrs and self employed residential paint contractor for many years. Retired in 2004 as an owner/operator in the trucking industry driving for 13 yrs. Member of St. James Catholic Church. David enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising horses, and working his small farm. He cherished time with his grandchildren and family and always loved great music. David is survived by his wife, Deanna; four children, Ronald (Suellen) Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Sharla (Stephen) Parsons and Steven Anderson; four grandchildren, Derek, Cassie, Connor and Katie; three sisters, Mary Lou Anderson, Gloria Null and Doris (Howard) Kutcher; and brother Dennis (Ellen) Anderson; several in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and granddaughter, Kali Marie Anderson.

Funeral Information

Prayer service 9:30 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home 218 W. Hurlbut Av. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Brian Geary, pastor and celebrant. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a Wake Service held at 8:00 p.m.
