Mr. Edgar Charles Skrine Jr.

January 24, 1935 - July 11, 2010

Edgar Charles Skrine, Jr., 75, of Roscoe, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 in Swedish American Hospital after a long illness. Born January 24, 1935 in Melrose Park, IL, son of Edgar C. and Nola (Nading) Skrine, Sr. Married H. Jean Rasmussen on February 9, 1952 in Dubuque, IA, she died on October 18, 2009. Edgar served our country in the US Army, was a Mason and Shriner and a member of the Mosaic Church in Rockford. Retired as a security guard and fire marshal from Chrysler and as a security guard from the Boone County Court House.
Survivors include daughters Linda J. Graves of Roscoe and Patricia A. Skrine of Owls Head, Maine, sons Edgar C. (Sue) Skrine, III of Belvidere and Steven N (Marion) Skrine of Mission Viejo, CA; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, wife, grandson David E. Silberhorn, great-granddaughter Emily Elizabeth Gammel, brother Eugene Skrine and sister Ruth Squire.

Funeral Information

Memorial Service 10 AM, Friday July 16, 2010 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut, Ave., Belvidere with Rev. David Spooner, Mosaic Church of Rockford, officiating. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. Visitation from 9:30 until time of service in the funeral home.
