Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend

James A. Coppernoll, 79, of Cherry Valley, died Wednesday, March 07, 2012, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Born December 16, 1932 in Belvidere, son of Harvard and Lucille (Schnor) Coppernoll. Graduated from Belvidere High School in 1951. Served in the US Army. Married Coralyn Dunbar on May 22, 1954 in Belvidere. Worked for Pattern Makers N.A. from 1951 until 1995. Served in Cherry Valley as a village trustee from 1965 to 1980 and from 2009 to 2011. A member of the Cherry Valley Men's Club, clock repairman, enjoyed fishing and was an avid Packer fan.
Survivors include his loving wife Coralyn, sons Alan (Sandy) of Rockford, Dale (Michele) of Stillman Valley, daughter Judy (Craig) Marander of South Beloit, grandchildren Brandon (Diana), Caleb (Paige), Joshua, Nathan, Jamie, Zackary, Noah, Levi, great-grandson Michael, and sister Mary (Bruce) Macdonald of Machesney Park. Predeceased by his parents, and son Michael.

Funeral Information

Memorial service 2 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Cherry Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Wang and Rev. Monty Fox officiating. Visitation noon until time of service at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded.
