Mrs. Jean A. Garman

Jean A. Garman, 81, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born February 4, 1928 in Sycamore, IL the daughter of Otto and Blanche (Barry) Fellinger. She married Donald A. Garman on February 18, 1947 in Sycamore. Over the years, Jean worked for Ideal Industries, Roy C. Williams Construction and the Northwest Herald. She was a fantastic homemaker, loving wife and mother; and at times a referee of her sons.

Jean was a great cook; enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing cards. She enjoyed camping and pontooning and watching and supporting her family in their chosen sports. Jean was also a rabid Bears and Cub fan.

Jean is loved and will be missed by her husband, Donald; son, Gary M. (Janet) Garman of McFarland, Wi; daughter in-law, Margaret “Peg” Garman of Belvidere; grandchildren, Kevin (Sue), Laura (Bryan) Schmitz, Benjamin (Stephanie), Matthew, Zachary (Jennifer); great grandson, Timothy; nieces and nephews.

Jean is predeceased by her parents and son David M. Garman.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, Il with Rev. Ed Greenfield, chaplain of OSF Hospice officiating. Burial of cremains in Belvidere Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:30p.m. to service time on Saturday.
