Mrs. Marguerite L. Welch

March 17, 1918 - February 12, 2010

Marguerite L. Welch, 91, of Belvidere, died Friday, February, 12, 2010 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a lingering illness. Born in Elgin, IL to William and Carrie (Taylor) Bremmer on March 17, 1918. Married Mervin Welch on July 16, 1939 in Belvidere. He passed away on March 5, 2004. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belvidere. Survivors include daughter Doris Hays of Belvidere, William (Lynn) Welch of Compton, IL, grandsons Bill, Ronald, Andy and Michael and granddaughter Christine, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; her beloved cat Smokey, numerous nieces and nephews and cherished friend Jack Sippel. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral Information

Funeral service will be 1 PM, Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere. Officiated by Captains William and Trish Welch of the Salvation Army in Ottawa, IL. Visitation will be from noon until time of service. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery.
