Jed R. Robbins, 43, of Belvidere, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 28, 2010 in his home from a sudden illness. He was born May 24, 1966 in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the son of Robert J. and Sharyn (Conley) Robbins. Jed grew up exploring the rivers and streams of Wisconsin. He later graduated from North Boone High School the class of 1984. In high school he excelled athletically in numerous sports. Jed graduated from Rock Valley College with an Associate’s degree. He also completed several technical training courses. Jed worked for Sharon (Wisconsin) Foundry and Warner Electric Co. He read voraciously. Jed loved to travel the cities of the U.S. and was lured by campus folklore where he joined in song and poetry many times, especially in Philadelphia. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole; his mother, Sharyn (Roger) Aeh, Poplar Grove, Illinois; his father, Robert (Mila) Robbins, Benton, Wisconsin; a sister, Robyn (Dan Webb) Robbins, Capron, Illinois; his niece, Emily and nephew, Nicholas; a brother Jon Robbins, Waynesville, North Carolina; his grandmother, Iva Maitland, Poplar Grove, Illinois, and favorite uncle and aunt, Jerry (Jeanette) Conley and cousins, Jennifer and Mary Ann; close friend, Vern Keefer. Funeral InformationFuneral service 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 5, 2010 in Capron Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carrie Smith, pastor, officiating. Cremation to take place following the service with burial in Capron Cemetery at a later date. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
