Roman Manske, 78, of Poplar Grove, Illinois, died peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2010 in his daughter’s home following a short illness. He was born on October 21, 1931 in Poland, the son of Herman and Frieda (Gross) Manske. Roman lived 36 years in Poplar Grove coming here from Chicago. He was married to Sandra Shouse in Chicago, Illinois on October 6, 1965, she preceded him in death on January 7, 1978. He was employed as a mechanic but later was self-employed in the manufacturing field. Roman served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He is survived by his children, Denise Renee Manske, David Roman Manske both of Poplar Grove, Illinois and Charlene Manske of Rockford; two grandchildren, Karac Hecox and Kaelin Hecox, both of Rockford and one great grandchild, two sisters, Ida (Arthur) Steeg, Michigan; Wanda (Ewald) Büsing, Nordenham, Germany. In addition to his wife, Roman is also predeceased by his parents and sister, Ursula Manske. Funeral InformationTo fulfill his wishes, cremation to take place with graveside services at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 in Belvidere Cemetery. The Rev.
