Donald R. Gibson, 62, of Garden Prairie, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center following a sudden illness. Don was born on October 17, 1949 in Medota, Illinois, the son of Walter A. and Charline (Buchanan) Gibson. He was a former member of the Genoa, Illinois Lions Club. Don enjoyed visiting various restaurants especially McDonald’s as well being outside doing yard work. He is survived by his brother, Gary (Deloris) Gibson, of Garden Prairie; niece, Andrea C. Gibson, of Rockford; nephew, Richard A. Gibson, of Garden Prairie; great-niece, Sandra Gibson of Phoenix, Arizona and great-nephew, Cody Gibson, of Garden Prairie.
